Timur Bekmambetov’s company Baselevs has acquired rights to make a screen version of the book One Hundred Percent Lunar Boy by the American musician and writer Stephen Tunney.
The novel was published in 2010. The story unfolds in the far future on the Moon, which has been colonized. The protagonist of the book is the 16-year-old Hieronymus Rexaphin, who can foresee the future. The novel tells about friendship of Hieronymus with a girl from the Earth.
Edward Ricourt will write the film scenario based on Tunney’s book. Earlier he took part in developing the plot of the movie Now You See Me, which is in production now and is planned to be released in 2013.
It is not known yet, whether Bekmambetov will be personally engaged in filming of One Hundred Percent Lunar Boy. Now he is finishing work on the film Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter based on the book by Seth Grahame-Smith. Bekmambetov participates in this project as a director and a producer.
