At the end of January Russian scientist Dmitry Mendeleev defended his dissertation on Russian vodka's composition. The birthday of this drink will be soon celebrated in Yekaterinburg.
The Centre of Arts “Inspiration” is going to hold a festival January 27-29, where the exhibition of rare bottles and flasks will be presented.
Guests will be able to see unusual containers for drinks, decorated in different techniques (decoupage, patchwork, scrapbooking), to read historical documents and to learn unique facts about Russian vodka and its origin.
The exposition will consist of a collection of bottles, made by leading artists and designers of Sverdlovsk region. Some exhibits look very original – flasks, painted in pink or decorated with shells, ancient containers found during archaeological excavations, bottles in the form of guns, swords, animals and various figures.
The organizers promise that the event will be an interesting and useful pastime.
