Monument to migrant peasants who opened up new lands of Siberia in the framework of Stolypin’s reform will be set up in Altai.
The monument is planned to be unveiled in September. At the same time a scientific conference named after Peter Stolypin and dedicated to issues of food safety will take place.
This year the country marks the 150th anniversary since the birth of Peter Stolypin, the famous prime minister of the Russian Empire. Scientists, politicians, representatives of federal ministries and departments and, certainly, agrarians will take part in the conference. They will discuss the value of Altai as the region that supplies food to Central Asia and a number of other countries.
Pyotr Stolypin’s notes displaying his inspection trip across Siberia will be published. The trip and its outcomes played a great role in historical development of Russia.
