Public Prosecutor of Stavropol Territory demands pulling down of the many-storeyed new buildings in Kislovodsk in the protection zone of a culture monument – Gorina’s manor, where the writer Alexander Solzhenitsyn used to stay.
A museum of the Russian writer Alexander Solzhenitsyn, who spent his childhood in Kislovodsk, is planned to be opened in the manor of Gorina. The private manor of Gorina is at the address 3, Borodinskoe Lane in Kislovodsk.
In the course of a check-up the supervising department found out that the city administration in 2010 had illegally issued a building permit for many-storeyed buildings of commercial purpose within the monument’s protection zone. On the basis of these documents construction works were started.
“A statement of claim was directed to Kislovodsk city court with the demand to recognize the building permits illegal and take down the carried out constructions”, - the press-release reports.
