The film Elena by the well-known Russian director Andrei Zvyagintsev has won the grand prize “Aurora” at the 22nd TIFF, which finished on Saturday in the northern Norwegian city Tromsø.
The work has gained 100 thousand crones (about 13 thousand euro) for its distribution in the Northern Kingdom.
Altogether the competitive program of the prestigious film festival, held for the 22nd time in the Norwegian city of Tromso already, included 11 works, among them films from Germany, France, Belgium, the USA, and China. Russia was represented with two works at once - Zvyagintsev’s Elena and Alexander Sokurov’s Faust.
Apart from the main award, Elena has taken the prize of international film critics.
