Physical education teacher Vladimir Ratnikov from Nizovka Village of Ardatovsky District of Mordovia is engaged in search of ancient household items.
One of his recent finds is a chimney built around the 17th century and unearthed in Mandashi Village. The exhibit is valuable for the fact that it reflects a certain period in life of Mordva people – the transition from heating with chimneyless stoves.
Vladimir Ratnikov has worked at school for many years, successfully participating in competitions in biathlon and other sports; however, the study of local lore is his main hobby. Some exhibits have been found in places, where, according to scientists, people never lived. The fan of regional history passes his finds over to Ardatovsk Museum of Local Lore and his school exposition.
