Huge Contemporary Art Centre to appear on Vasilyevvsky island, St.-Petersburg

The Russia biggest centre for contemporary art is to be built on Vasilyevsky island, St.-Petersburg. The centre will be titled Art-Depot, after its location in a former tram depot where there is Museum of City Transport already open. Design projects have been recently considered in the municipal committee on monuments protection.
      The huge territory of the would-be centre will house numerous exhibitions, fairs, festivals and master-classes. The centre will admit up to three thousand visitors at once. The centre is believed to enable the creation of a solid basis for international experience exchange and development of new art techniques.
