A new holiday will take place in the Nenets Autonomous Area and Arkhangelsk region for the first time. The Day of Cold will be held February 29 in order to unite people living in the Far North.
The holiday is a great opportunity to discuss issues concerning the uniting of civil society of arctic regions. On this day famous polar explorers will visit Naryan-Mar and have meetings with residents and visitors of the town.
The main Russian Ded Moroz from Veliky Ustyug is also planning to arrive.
The holiday will take place at the central square of Naryan-Mar, where guests can find a special tent, reindeers, folk art and national cuisine.
