Russian Tennis Player Struggles For the Top

Maria Sharapova has become the World 2 tennis player. In the recent WTA rating's version (Women Tennis Association), published on February 13, Sharapova went up form the third place to the second, taking the lead over Czech tennis player Petra Kvitova. The first place is still occupied by Viktoriya Azarenko from Belarus.

       There are no other changes in the rating. Russian Vera Zvonareva kept her eighth position. Another Russian tennis player, Anastasiaya Pavluchenkova, holds the 15th place. Svetlana Kuznetsova went up from 19th to 18th position.

       The first ten players in the ATP's rating (Association of Tennis Professionals) has remained on their positions. The first place is still occupied by Serbian Novak Djokovic, the second tennis player is Spaniard Raphael Nadal, the third is Roger Federer. The best Russian tennis player in this rating, Mikhail Yuzhny, went up from 32nd postion to 31st.
