Vnesheconombank to finance Belorussian nuclear power station

Belorussia will get $ 500 million loan from Vnesheconombank for building a nuclear power station, reports the Belorussian agency Belta. The sum is supposed to be spent for prepaymants of the contracts, which will be made during the first five years.

      
The Minsk support will make up about $ 1 billion for prepayments. This will let Belorussia not to finance the program from its gold reserves.

      
The contract was signed within an intergovernmental agreement on supplying a loan up to $ 10 billion for 25 years to Belorussia. This sum will cover up to 90 % of total expenses. The works will be fulfilled by the AtomstroyexportJSC, whichis a leading Russian engineering company of State Corporation "Rosatom" on construction of nuclear power facilities abroad.

      
The nuclear power station will be located in Grodnenskaya Region. The power of the two energy blocks will be 2.4 Gigawatt. The construction is planned to be  completed by 2017-2018.
