Two new federal nature reserves and six national parks will be created in Russia in 2012. Two new reserves are planned to be founded this year: Ingenmanlandsky (in the Leningrad Region) and the Shaitan-Tau (the Orenburg Region). Besides, the national parks Beringia (Chukchi autonomous region), Land of Leopard (Primorski Territory), Ladoga Skerries (Karelia Republic), Onega Pomorye (Arkhangelsk Region), Chikoy (Transbaikalian Territory) and Shantarskie Islands (Khabarovsk Territory). Besides, it has been planned to expand the territories of some nature reserves, among them Sikhote-Alin Reserve (in Primorski Territory), North Ossetia (Republic of Northern Ossetia-Alania), Astrakhan (Astrakhan Region), Teberdinsky (Karachaevo-Circassian Republic), Dagestan (Republic Dagestan), Hoper (Voronezh Region), and Caucasian (Krasnodar Territory, Adygei Republic).
