The Most Popular Professions among Russian Schoolchildren

The All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VTsIOM) has revealed results of the latest opinion poll, in which Russian schoolchildren expressed their career aspirations. According to the poll, the top three popular professions include bankers, architects and doctors. Schoolchildren, students of colleges and parents responded the questions about careers.

What specialists does the country need? 40% of children (14-16 years old) believe that Russia needs bankers. According to the parallel poll, parents are actively supporting the economic tendencies of their children.

34% of students prefer to choose a career in medicine, but 22% of parents don’t want their children to become doctors. It is interesting, but nearly half of children said that they would not take into account the views of parents in such matter as future profession.

The third place takes the career of architect. As for the most unattractive jobs, parents have noted guards (28%) and secretaries (25%).
