Updated exposition First Study Room of Writer Bulgakov has been opened in the writer’s museum in Bolshaya Sadovaya Street.
Behind the old door – there is renovated interior. The first Moscow study room of Bulgakov presents a new exposition. An art installation has been created on the basis of original memorial things. In the new interior of the room there are just a few things which Mikhail Bulgakov really touched.
It is a well-known shelf with sphinxes or mermaids, which used to hang in this room in the 1920s, and a table at which the future writer used to site when he visited his uncle in Moscow, even before he moved to Moscow himself. The rest of the setting is just an apt stylization.
Its authors, the museum director Inna Mishina and artist Anton Glotov, tried to convey the atmosphere of the first three years of Mikhail Bulgakov’s life in Moscow, rather than exact historical conditions.
