Monuments to architects may possibly be set up in the squares of railways stations in Moscow.
“Moscow has few monuments to architects. As far as I know there are several of them in Tsaritsyno. Why don’t we set up some more monuments, let’s say to Fyodor Schechtel or Alexey Shchusev?” – chief architect of Moscow Alexander Kuzmin said.
He mentioned that Moscow authorities give particular attention to accomplishment of areas near the railway stations. “Works on improvement of areas surrounding railroad terminals have been held recently, and now expansion of these areas is discussed”.
Recently the sculpture of St. George the Victorious has appeared near the Yaroslavsky and Leningradsky terminals, and now the sculptor Scherbak works on a monument to the founder of the Russian railways” – Mr. Kuzmin added.
