Monument to Manas Magnanimous Set Up in Moscow

A monument to a character of the Kirghiz epos - athlete Manas Magnanimous has been opened in the Friendship Park at the River Station in Moscow.

The monument is a sculptural composition representing Manas on horseback, his wife Kanykej and his wise friend Bakaj. A team of Kirghiz sculptors worked on the pedestal. The monument was cast 4 years ago, but due to lack of financing it took so long to set it up. The monument was financed by the government of Kirghizia and the Moscow diaspora.

The monument to Manas has taken a deserved place next to other monuments of friendly interstate mutual relations: a monument of the Hungarian and Soviet friendship and a monument to Cervantes.
