Preliminary Elections Results
Poll station #2084, Moscow, March 4 2012

Preliminary elections results indicate that ex-Prime Minister is likely to return to power with an astounding support. Despite recorded instances of "caroussels" and minor frauds, their numbers do not suggest a plot to bring once the President back to power, official sources say.

As of 21:45 Moscow time on March 4, 2012, the results look as follows:

      Vladimir Zhirinovsky - 8%

      Gennady Zyuganov - 18%

      Vladimir Putin - 61,8%

      Mikhail Prokhorov - 7,5%

      Sergei Mironov - 4%

It has been said that the elections results at one of the stations in the Republic of Dagestan will be cancelled due to multiple instances of fraud.

In general, in Moscow, and especially in central districts, citizens' turnout has been really high. The photo was taken by Evgeny Meschaninov at the poll station #2084 around 1:30pm Moscow time, and it shows a typical scene observed today at all poll stations.

Observers and politicians have expressed their concerns over the validity of results and their reciprocity with the real political opinion of Russian people. Gennady Zyuganov, the leader of the Communist Party, has said, in particular, that he would not greet anyone on the occasion of victory, and that he considers the elections illegitimate and unfair. A film director Stanislav Govorukhin, on the other hand, claimed that these were the fairest elections in all Russian history since 1990s.
