The Grand Prix of the 17th Open Russian Animated Film Festival that took place in Suzdal went to Aleksei Turkus’ film Snow-Covered Horseman.
The animated cartoon film Snow-Covered Horseman by Aleksei Turkus about a boy’s love to his father, about the realm of fancies and reality took the Grand Prix and the first place in the professional rating.
The second place in the same category went to Natalia Mirzoyan and her work Chinti created in the technique of tea animation and 2D computer animation. The film that tells a story about an ant, which tries to make his dream true and does not suspect that his dream is just next to it, was also awarded the prize for the best depiction.
The jury awarded the third prize to Sophia Kendel’s graduation film Pishto is Leaving about a character who decides to quit everything and start life anew. The film has also won a prize of the Guild of Film Experts and Film Critics and was recognized the best students’ film at the festival.
The Open Animation Film Festival founded in 1996 is considered the only professional forum of all animation works created by Russian and Belorussian film directors within a year.
