According to the words of the British Prime Minister David Cameron, Britain is going to work with a new elected Russian president in order to overcome difficulties between Moscow and London.
David Cameron called Vladimir Putin on Monday to discuss issues concerning the two countries' relationship.
“The Prime Minister said, that he hoped to collaborate with Mr. Putin and to mend the bilateral political and trade ties”, - said the statement of Downing Street.
The leaders agreed on the importance of building a productive relationship, but also acknowledged the differences in many issues.
Mr. Cameron and Mr. Putin also discussed the situation in Syria. Britain often criticized Russia for lack of action to stop the violence in the country and the fact that Russia blocked UN resolution against Syria regime.
