Red Wolf Becomes

Yekaterinburg zoo has organized a special contest "Zoo Mister 2012". Red wolf Ted has become a winner, leaving four strong contenders behind.

The contest presented five main candidates for the title: red wolf Ted, fossa Andy, oriental small-clawed otter Lex, weeper capuchin Buba and Great Grey Owl Boeing. Voting was held on the website kulturmultur.com. There are also photos and descriptions of all the participants on the website.

In the beginning of the contest, Andy became leader (took the third place with 18% eventually). Then he gave place to Boeing (the second place with 35%). In the last days of the voting, wolf Ted came out on top (the first place with 37%).

Now Ted will be presented with special food. Besides, his enclosure will be marked with a sign "Zoo Mister 2012".

Red wolfs are listed in the Red Data Book of the Russian Federation and in the International Red Data Book.

In 2011 the "Zoo Mister" title was given to the polar bear Umka, in 2010 - to the white tiger Radzhakhan and in 2009 - to the peacock Vasisualiy.
