Court Pronounces a Sentence on Vandals in Kaliningrad Region

Two locals in the Kaliningrad region
      have been recognized guilty of vandalism based on political, ideological, racial, national or religious hatred.
      
      For defilement of the monument to Holocaust victims in the Yantarny Settlement, where the Nazi shot more than 7 thousand Jews in 1945, they have been sentenced to imprisonment of 1.5 and 1 year respectively.
      
      The act of vandalism took place in August, 2011. The criminals poured paint over the memorial by the world famous sculptor Frank Meisler. It is a reminder that paint still has not been removed from the monument.
