The 7th Festival of small historical towns of the Leningrad region will be held on the territory of the Peter and Paul Fortress in St. Petersburg March 31, 2012. Guests will be acquainted with culture, tourist opportunities and interesting sites of the cities.
The Leningrad region can offer a wide variety of leisure activities - from luxury ski resorts to rural holiday homes. However, the most valuable thing in the region is ancient monuments and the culture of native peoples and ethnic groups living there. All this will be discussed in the framework of the festival, which has been held since 2006.
Each town will present itself by performances of art collectives in folk costumes, rituals reconstructions, fashion shows and musical compositions.
Guests will be acquainted with various crafts, learn how to make lace, pottery and weaving products, buy handmade souvenirs. Tourist information centers of the cities will offer booklets, books, maps, postcards and other information materials about the historical and cultural monuments, museums, events and holidays.
