Blue Mosque, Istanbul, Turkey

Russia and Turkey signed an agreement on cooperation in tourism in the framework of the international exhibition "Intourmarket" in Moscow. The document has been signed by the head of the Federal Tourism Agency, Alexander Radkov and the Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, Ozgur Ozaslan.

According to the words of Mr. Radkov, this agreement is very important for both countires, because it provides cooperation in such issues as tourism, security and marketing.

Russia was visited by 200,000 Turkish tourists last year, reports ITAR-TASS. Mr. Radkov is confident that, the number can be increased by 5 times - up to a million tourists a year.

The Russian Federal Tourism Agency intends to actively promote tourism opportunities in the Turkish market by expanding the presence of Russia at major trade shows and organizing information tours for Turkish travel companies and journalists.

In turn, Ozgur Ozaslan noted that "Turkey should not be associated exclusively with the beach holiday and is ready to offer Russian tourists new destinations like pilgrim, event and sightseeing tours."
