Just weeks after a Russian hacked Google Chrome another Russian citizen, Roman Andreev from St. Petersburg, has beaten an American to the second place, to scoop $5K and an award for hacking into Facebook.
Roman is only 18, yet managed to beat thousands of others in the competition. He solved the task in 1 hour 4 minutes; the second-place programmer was late by 1 minute.
Facebook Hacker Cup is now in its 2nd year; the first-year winner was also a student from Russia, Pyotr Mitrichev of the Math Faculty at the Moscow State University.
Earlier this month another Russian, Sergey Glazunov of Tyumen State University, won $60K for hacking Google Chrome.
