How to Name Your New Party?
Mikhail Prokhorov

An online voting is launched for choosing the best name for Mikhail Prokhorov's new political party.

There is a list of 86 proposals which were the most popular among 45,000 submissions, made by people in the Internet, who filled a form for entering the new party.

Though the voting has just begun, there are already some leaders. Currently, the leader name is Yo-Party (13,4%), the next pretenders are New Russia (11,8%), Our Choice (5,2%), Future of Russia (4,5%) and Russia 2.0 (3,8%).

Yo-Party (¨-ïàðòèÿ) is a pun on Prokhorov-backed Yo-mobile, the project to build Russia’s first hybrid car.

Prokhorov said he is undecided on his own preferred option. “The title should reflect the spirit and the essence of our enterprise," he added.

Items that also made it to the poll include Freedom, Wind of Change and White Party, PROgress, Alternative, Democratic Party of Russia and Russian Progressive Party.

The vote will produce ten best options, which will form a short-list. The final decision will be made by the poll’s organizing committee, which will comprise the upcoming party’s high-profile supporters.
