Moscow once again headed the list of European cities with the most expensive hotels.
According to the free online hotel booking service, Hotel.info, the average price of a hotel room in Moscow is 7,227 rubles (some $240) per night.
"While the price for room in Moscow hotels has decreased a bit, prices in many European megalopolises continue to grow. However, Moscow hotels are still the most expensive in Europe", it is said in the review.
Comparing to the previous year, prices in Moscow hotels have decreased by 2 per cent.
Norway's capital Oslo took second place, the average price per room there is $211 per night. The third place is occupied by London with an average price per room of $207 per night. Stockholm took the fourth place - the room rate per night is $199 there. Helsinki is the fifth with $187.
Rounding out the top 10 most expensive hotels in European cities is Warsaw. Since last year, the cost of a room in the city increased to $116 per night.
Hotel.info makes such ratings on a regular basis, and Moscow is a usual holder of the first place. The main problem in Moscow hotel industry is an abundance of expensive hotels for VIP-persons and a lack of economy-class accommodation. Recently, Moscow officials has designed a plan for creating a lot of new reasonably priced hotels and hostels to solve this problem.
