Russia To Ease Visa Regime for Tourists

The Russian government will submit proposals on easing the visa regime for foreigners, visiting Russia for tourism.

Russian President has approved has approved a list of instructions for the Government due to help developing different tourism clusters in Russian regions. In particular, one of the proposals simplifies the entry into the territory of the Russian Federation by foreign citizens travelling by cruise ships and yachts.

According to the Russian Tourism Ministry, about 2 million tourists visit Russia every year. And this number can be increased till 70 million visitors. Russia is the biggest country in the world, with the greatest amount of cultural and natural heritages. But at the same time, Russia is one of the most hard-to-reach countries, considering visa regulations and migration procedures, which often look as archaic remnants of the Soviet Union and its cocooning policy.

The new measures are set to change this unpleasant tradition and make travel in Russia more modern and comfortable.
