An exhibition of Soviet pin-up art was opened at the cultural centre “Gallery of Progress” on April 1, 2012. The artist Valery Barykin has been developing the Soviet erotic style for the last 10 years.
Thirty seven pictures, displayed at the exhibiton, show the real situations from life. The author embeds the aesthetics of the American pin-up into the Soviet social poster, where the main character is not the usual image of a builder of socialism, but a good-looking sexy girl.
The pictures are made on the computer. The images of ladies were taken from real women from Kirov. First they were photographed and then the images were transferred to the posters according to the pin-up technoque.
The exhibition will run until the end of the month. The ticket price is 100 rubles.
