Almost 20 percent of Russian people are happy with their sexual life, which is 12 percent more than in 1999, according to the country's leading opinion pollster.
12 percent of respondents have no strong emotions about sex and 4 percent are unhappy with their sex life.
According to the poll, Russian men seem to be more satisfied with their sexual relationships than women (21 and 16 percent respectively).
The biggest percent of happy lovers among single Russians living together with their partners: 55% of satisfied and 24% of sexually happy respondents. Among the married couples only 19 percent are happy and 44 percent are satisfied.
1,600 people in 46 Russian regions took part in the poll, which was conducted on March 31-April 1.
However, the demographic situation in the country is at an all-time low. Russian population can drop to 75 million people by 2050. That is a 50 percent decline in less than 40 years.
Moreover, results of another poll, conducted by New York-based Earth Institute, are not so optimistic for Russian people. According to the World Happiness Report, Russia is only the 76th in the list of countries with happy people, somewhere between Moldova and Peru. The happiest country is Denmark, top ten includes Norway, Finland and the Netherlands.
