Gostini Dvor (Shopping Arcades) — a monument of architecture constructed over 300 years ago - has been opened for public after restoration in Arkhangelsk.
Expositions of the Arkhangelsk Regional Museum of Local Lore have been settled in restored white-stone chambers.
Gostini Dvor is located in the very center of the historical part of the city at Pur-Navolok Cape on the bank of Northern Dvina. They were built of stone in 1684 on the place of burned down wooden constructions. Few monuments of the kind have remained in Russia. Restoration works were conducted from 1992.
The trading and defensive construction of Gostini Dvor in Arkhangelsk is a monument of architecture of federal value.
