Chaliapin's Talent as an Artist to be Revealed to Public in his Estate

The exhibition Chalyapin is Drawing has been opened in the memorial estate of the world famous opera singer.

Feodor Chaliapin's talent as a singer and actor are world renowned, however, few people know that his gift was not limited by these two areas of creativity. His drawings take an important place in the art by Chaliapin. Thus, for example, the famous Russian impressionist artist Konstantin Korovin was delighted with Chaliapin's drawings.

The opera singer did not keep his drawings, forgetting about them right after finishing them. He could draw anywhere, even on tablecloths, napkins or menus in a restaurant. Some of the drawings have been preserved thanks to his family.

Among the exhibits there are his fairy tales accompanied with his illustrations created for his children. Another of his passion was drawing friendly caricatures of himself and his friends.

The exhibition runs till May 30.
