Opposition Applies for the Biggest Protest March

Today Russian political opposition has applied to hold a May 6 "March of Millions" in Moscow to protest the results of parliamentary and presidential elections, as it was said in the Left Front statement.

According to Left Front leader, Sergei Udaltsov, the application for the march is from Triumfalnaya Square along Tverskaya Street to Manezhnaya Square next to the Kremlin walls. The proposed time is 3:00 pm on May 6.

This date is not accidental, as an inauguration of Vladimir Putin as a president is scheduled on May 7. The main demand of the march will be re-elections and serious political reforms.

Udaltsov is listed in the application as one of the march's organizers. Other political movements are also invited to take part in the action.

The Moscow mayor's office should respond to the application request within three days. Udaltsov said he and his team were prepared to negotiate and to discuss a route of the march.
