The exposition consists of works by the greatest Russian artists of the mid 19th early 20th centuries which turned to by fakes. The history of this collection is typical for Russia: in the mid-1990s having earned a lot of money, Igor Vozyakov started purchasing paintings by the famous masters: Aivazovsky, Shishkin, and other figures of the Russian art of the 19th -20th centuries. Altogether he has collected 120 canvasses.
The examination carried out recently showed that 9 of 15 works remaining in his collection now are high-quality fakes. The owner of the collection, following the example of some western collections, has decided to expose them in a museum.
