On Monday Dick Advocaat said he would step down as coach of the Russian national team in July after Euro 2012.
"I will go after the European championship. I can’t tell you the reason yet but, but it is definitely not the money question. I haven’t told the players yet", he said.
Advocaat is sure his future resignation would not influence the Russian team's preparation for the Euro 2012.
Dick Advocaat took over from fellow Dutch coach Guus Hiddink in May 2010 on a two-year deal. His contract is to be extended in July 2012, but the head coach has already refused to do it.
Before taking the Russia job, he was coach of Zenit St. Petersburg, where he won the 2007 Russian championship and beat Rangers to win the UEFA Cup in 2008.
According to Dutch daily Voetbal International, Advocaat has agreed to rejoin his old club PSV Eindhoven.
At Euro 2012, Russia are in Group A with co-host Poland, Czech Republic and Greece.
