The Russian hockey team continue their perfect run at the Hockey World Championships in Finland and Sweden, defeating Denmark 3-1.
The first goal was made by the Russians after two minutes of play, with a successful blast of Evgeny Medvedev.
But soon, the score was equalized by the Danes only two minutes later, as the puck ricocheted into the net from Ilya Nikulin’s skate after an effort from Montreal Canadians forward Lars Edder, 1-1.
Russian team managed to regain the lead in the opening period, with Pittsburgh Penguins center Evgeny Malkin scoring his third goal in four games at the tournament, 2-1.
In the same period the Russian team proved its superiority, when Shirokov played in 19-year-old prodigy Evgeny Kuznetsov, who bore down on Nielsen’s goal before stopping the puck for Kalinin to smash in.
After four games within the championships Russian and Sweden hockey teams share the first place in the Group B. The both teams have already secured their participation in the Worlds play-off.
