Medicine dispensing robots may soon appear in Russian hospitals. They aim to help nurses and to increase hospital efficiency.
It is reported that students from the South Urals were able to create an automated complex for healthcare facilities. Special mechanical devices “Stepan” and “Gerasim” will deal with patients replacing nurses. The robotic dispensary system is used to pack medication for people that seek treatment. Another robot “Emelya” will then deliver the prescribed medicines to wards. Every patient will get a special e-card so that to avoid mistakes.
As we live in the time when some actions can be carried out by machines with artificial intelligence, this system can make life much easier for everybody. It shows that in future hospitals and clinics can function with a minimal amount of human staff.
