Sberbank has announced mobile application Sberbank OnL@ne for iPhone smartphones


      May 24 Sberbank has placed a new version of mobile application Sberbank OnL@ne for iPhone at App Store. The service lets customers the direct access to their Sberbank accounts and opportunity to manage them.

Sberbank offers the unique service in Russia to transfer money from phone to phone, based only on card and phone numbers, in case both customers are registered at Sberbank OnL@ne system, said Victor  Orlovski, the Senior-President of Sberbank, Chief Technology Officer at the conference Next Great App:Future of mobile applications on May 24.

Other services include opening a bank account, blocking the card if it’s lost, system of searching the nearest automatic teller machines.

The service is available for all holders of the international Sberbank cards, having the contract of bank servicing.

At the moment the application has been worked out only for iPhone users and only in Russian. The start with iOS was motivated by less vulnerability of the platform, according to Mr. Orlovskiy. The application can be downloaded at the Apple application store for free. By October- November it can be available on Android phones and by December for Windows phones and Samsung Bada. The English version can also appear later.   

The new version of Sberbank OnL@ne was worked out by some developers, among them Sberbank-Technologies. The costs 'were not big' and amounted in $ 100 thousand, said the official.
