Performance by the Russian violinist Andrey Baranov - the winner of the Brussels international competition of young performers – became a major triumph and one of the most memorable events in the history of this prestigious musical competition, the Le Soir newspaper writes on Monday.
The Queen Elizabeth Brussels Competition of Young Performers consists of a four-year cycle: every year it is dedicated to one of the specialties – the violin, the piano, the academic vocal or composition. The money award for the victory in the competition held for the 75th time this year made 25 thousand euro.
This year 88 violinists were selected for participation in the Brussels competition. According to the competition rules the contestants are not older than 30.
