The new project “Mobile Guide” will start in Smolensk in June. Tourists will be able to use special information boards with three-digit telephone numbers, on which one can call and can get information about historical or cultural sites.
More than a hundred audio clips have been already recorded. The mobile guide will be available in the Smolensk Fortress, the Assumption Cathedral, Holy Trinity Monastery, in all museums, located mostly in the city center.
The service is aimed at individual travelers wishing to explore the city on their own. One-and two-minute informational audio clips are paid, but the cost of the call is still unknown. It is supposed that the price will not be more than a standard cost of a telephone conversation.
