The international open-air youth music festival Rock Hills that failed to take place last year is planned to be held at the end of July 2012 in Bryansk Region.
In summer 2011 the festival was cancelled due to invasion of Bryansk police the day before the start. It turned out that the organizers had not considered “the state of emergency connected to high risk of forest fires”. This time the organizers have got permit of the regional authorities and made agreement about the venue of the festival on the bank of Desna River.
Rock Hills is a non-commercial event, and the entrance is free. Apart from rock, it might include other music styles, such as folk, reggae, jazz, etc.
The festival is aimed at promoting the unfolding of creative potential and improving the music taste of the youth. Promising musicians get a chance to become noticed and gain popularity. Rock Hills targets at fostering positive attitude and the spirit of humanity, as well as environmental friendliness.
