Flower Show to be Held in Moscow Park

The first Moscow International Festival of Gardens and Flowers will take place in Gorky Central Park of Culture and Leisure July 3-8, 2012. The organizers are going to create the Russian equivalent of the annual Chelsea Flower Show.

      The program includes various workshops on gardening, making flower compositions and dresses, weaving jewelry using petals, stamens and other parts of plants. The only in Russia school of decorative pruning trees and shrubs will be working during the festival.

      Visitors can see the original flowerbeds and compositions, landscape projects created by different designers and unique gardens such as “Dolphins” with shrubs in the shape of sea animals.

      More than 50 participants - landscape architects and florists from Russia and Europe – are going to show their works to Moscow public.

      The opening ceremony with the flower fashion show is to be held on July 3. Another great event 0 the Day of Rose – will take place on July, 5. Guests will be able to see the new kind of a beige-pink rose, which is a symbol of the renovated Gorky Park.

      The important part of the festival is competition in decorating of balconies and loggias. One may find out how to turn a balcony into a blooming garden.

      Moscow Flower Show is a unique event for Russian capital. According to organizers, the festival aims to show the best examples of urban gardening, landscape design and floristic.
