The Hermitage Opens Exhibition of Santiago Calatrava

In Search of Movement - a large-scale exhibition of the remarkable Spanish futuristic architect Santiago Calatrava has opened in the Hermitage Museum, St. Petersburg.
      
      Each his works is based on observations of nature, at the same time represents a combination of latest engineering achievements with reminiscences of gothic style. Today Calatrava's gracious futurism embodied in buildings of railway stations, stadiums, and museums decorates dozens of cities world over.
      
      The exhibition includes 150 architectural models, projects and drawings. The title of the exhibition - In Search of Movement - brings attention to the architect's major principle of giving dynamics and development to a static form. The exhibition runs till September 30.
