The decision to include Lenskie Stolby on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites was made on July 1st, 2012 at the World Heritage Commission's session in St. Petersburg. At the same time, the Commission did not include the ancient Kremlins of Russia located in Pskov, Astrakhan and Uglich.
