The structures of Viktor Vekselberg’s Renova Group will get control over an airport in Rostov-on- Don, informs The Kommersant.
Recently the government of Russia has given 50.6% of the airport shares to the regional authorities.
According to The Kommersant, later these shares will be given to the company Rostovairoinvest, whose 75% of shares are controlled by the structure OJSC Koltsovo-Invest, which is a part of the Renova Group. The investor will get the property of the airport, as the airport itself cannot be privatized.
The sum of the private investments into the airport in Rostov-on –Don will amount into $ 500 million. The Renova Group plans to develop the landing strip and to finance the building of a new airport Uzhniy with the traffic capacity of about 8 million passengers a year.
The Renova Group by Viktor Vekselberg is creating an airport holding The Airports of Regions, which is to become the largest airport structure in Russia.
