The Russian Museum has opened the exhibition “Realism in Russian art of the second half of the 20th century”. The Russian Museum displays a selection of realistic art works of the 1950-2000s from a Moscow private collection, mostly paintings and some sculptures. Gloomy sketches on the subject of the Soviet society and anti-Soviet morals by Heliy Korzhev, idyllic rural scenes by brothers Tkachev, Andrey Kurnakov and Valentin Sidorov, landscapes with philosophical implications by Vladimir Stozharov and Alexander Gritsay, as well as works by sculptors Mikhail Pereyaslavts, Ivan Korzhev, and Alexander Burganov. Classics of Soviet art are displayed side by side with artists whose works have never been exhibited in the museum before. The exposition runs till October 8. Source: fontanka.ru
