The Mariinsky Theater has transferred one million rubles to the fund for aid to victims of the flood in Krasnodar Territory.
“Maestro Gergiev has immediately taken the decision to transfer to the fund 1 million rubles that the theater earned at the concert on July 8” – the theatre press service reports.
On that day the Symphonic Orchestra of the Mariinsky Theater under conductorship of Valery Gergiev and opera soloists Olga Sergeyeva and Yury Vorobyyov, as well as the Japanese pianist and composer Nobuyuki Tsujii performed in the Concert Hall in the framework of the 20th Musical Festival Stars of White Nights.
The Mariinsky Theatre will donate another million rubles to the aid fund after Anna Netrebko's solo concert that will be held on the stage of Mariinsky stage on July 20. The world-famous Russian opera diva and soloist of the Mariinsky Opera Anna Netrebko is a native of Krasnodar.
