Sheremetyevo airport to accept Airbus À380

From August 1 the Moscow international airport Sheremetyevo will be able to accept the largest passenger jet in the world Airbus À380-800 and À380-800F, says the airport in its press-release. The relevant permission was given by the Federal Agency of Air Transport.

To accept and exploit the largest jet, an airport has to meet stricter requirements. Airbus À380 is ranked as category 4F (the largest jets).

Earlier only two airports in Russia were allowed to accept Airbus À380, the Moscow Domodedovo and Novosibirsk Tolmachevo.

Up to the moment the largest jet A 380 has made only three flights to Russia. From December 1, 2012 the Emirates airlines will start regular flights from Moscow Domodedovo to Dubai on board of Airbus À380.
