Russia appears to be very "deluge-friendly" this week. Following the weekend tragedy in Krymsk in Krasnodar Region, on Friday, July 13, several streets in Central Moscow have been flooded.
You may put it down to Friday the Thirteenth, it may surely explain a lot. A ten-minute rain caused deluge in several streets in Moscow city centre, including Solyanka (Kitay-Gorod underground station), Sadovnicheskaya St (Novokuznetskaya and Paveletskaya stations), Yauzskaya Embankment, Ordynka (Polyanka and Tretyakovskaya stations). Spartak Square, and others.. It is important to remember that Moscow stands on 7 hills, and some of the named streets are located in the lower regions, hence the influx of water.
So far no casualties have been reported, although people have to take off their footwear, roll up the trousers and waddle through the "river". More damage is reported to the cars parked in the streets: most of them have had water in the salon, and some have apparently been floating in the middle of the street.
Bear this in mind you are travelling through Moscow. Yandex gives Moscow traffic jams a 6-degree estimate, but this may increase, due to the flood.
