Vologda region plans to present new routs for tourists at the autumn International Tourism Exhibition.
In particular, the region's officials have developed a new route "Ancient Mysteries of the Russian North" which will include traveling to Totemsky, Nyuksensky, Tarnogsky and other areas and also provides for visiting of some unique museums and participating in interactive programs.
In the nearest future tourists will be able to visit the Museum of Childhood in the Totemsky region and to see big collections of ritual dolls, braided toys and figures made of tin and wood. Nyuksensky region will offer participating in a unique ancient wedding ritual, and Tarnogsky region will present an excursion "Life and Legends of Shebenga" - the village which is famous for its traditions and fantastiñ folk arts.
By 2020 the Vologda region plans to welcome 3 million tourists. About half a million people visited the region in 2011.
