A monument to the renowned Russian patron of arts Savva Morozov has been set up near a local library in the Pionerskoe Settlement of Istra District.
The sculptor Sergey Kazantsev has worked on it for about a year.
A serious look, moustache and a coat in fashion of the late 19th century – this is how dwellers of his estate in Pokrovskoye-Rubtsovo and locals remembered Savva Morozov. Till date legends about the generous patron are passed on from one generation to another.
150 years after his birth grateful descendants set up a monument to Savva Morozov. Great-great-grandsons of the patron of arts took part in the unveiling of the monument.
