Several GLONASS Satellites Put Out Of Operation

Several GLONASS satellites have been put out of operation for maintenance and check-up purposes. Another two satellites are currently out of operation due to technical faults.

The proposed launch of three more GLONASS satellites this summer is delayed until a later date. According to the agency's spokesperson, the present system of satellites is working fine, and the launch was postponed till the date when it is necessary to bring "fresher" satellites to the orbit.

The decision about the launch will be made at the government's level.
